Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit is recruiting a YPPI Coordinator to implement the Y Positive Play Initiative across the service area, promoting site development, program awareness, and youth engagement to ensure all children have access to the program.

You will support safe, engaging activities, coordinate supplies and snacks, attend program team meetings, and work with site staff and partners to achieve program goals. CPR/First Aid training within 30 days is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required (18+).
• Associates degree or college credits preferred (2+ years).
• CPR & First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, etc., within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site safety at all times.
• Encourage youth participation in daily sport-related activities.
• Assist with delivery of supplies, equipment, snacks, and beverages.
• Attend YPPI program team meetings (schedule TBD).
• Complete youth surveys at each site.
• Document incidents and communicate emergencies to supervisors.
• Maintain cleanliness of YPPI vehicles and report issues.
• Be responsive to customer and volunteer needs promptly.
• Communicate with YPPI site team and site partners.
• Help reach program goals and deliverables.
