Job summary

Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is seeking a part-time Sports Coordinator to develop and oversee youth and adult sports programs at the Geneva location. You will manage game schedules, supervise officials, and coordinate equipment, uniforms, and photos under the Sports Director's guidance.

The role requires at least 18 years old, background check clearance, and completion of CPR/First Aid/AED and related safety trainings within 30 days. Weekend duties and campus supervision are included.

Qualifications

• Sports experience preferred and flexible schedule.
• Minimum age 18 and must pass a background check.
• CPR, First Aid & AED; Bloodborne Pathogens; Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Direct and supervise program activities to meet YMCA objectives and expand youth sports in the community.
• Transport and set up equipment; maintain fields for practices, games, and tournaments.
• Develops and distributes schedules; oversee officials; distribute uniforms and awards; coordinate team photos.
• On-site supervision, including weekend tournaments if necessary.
• Assist with organizing leagues, scheduling refs/games, recruiting volunteer coaches and umpires.
• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Plan and facilitate summer youth sport camps.
• Umpire when necessary; report daily to Sports Director.
• All other duties assigned.

Position Summary

Help develop, organize, and implement high-quality youth/adult sports programs and maintain program fields under the direction of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA’s Sports Director.

Essential Functions

• Ability to provide excellent customer service while working in a very fast-paced environment.
• Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Helps expand youth sports program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
• Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices. Responsible for making sure fields are maintained, groomed, and ready daily for practices, games, and weekend tournaments.
• Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules; oversees and/or schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines, and handbooks. Distributes team uniforms and awards; coordinates team photographs.
• On-site as a supervisor, including weekend tournaments if necessary.
• Assist the Sports Director with the organization of leagues, scheduling refs/games, acquiring volunteer coaches, umpires, and supporting all activities.
• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Helps plan and facilitate summer youth sport camps.
• Umpires when necessary.
• Reports daily to the Sports Director for assignments.

All other duties assigned.

Qualification

• Sports experience preferred, flexible schedule.
• Minimum age of 18 years and must pass a reference and a criminal background check.
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid & AED; Blood borne Pathogens. Must complete Child Abuse Prevention Video Courses before the first day.
