Job summary

Stevens Point Area YMCA seeks part-time staff to teach fundamentals of youth sports, enforce game rules, and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for children ages 3 through elementary school. The role involves game prep, supervision, and promoting fair play in a fast-paced setting.

Applicants should be energetic, communicative, able to connect with kids and parents, and aligned with the Y values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the sport's skills and rules and safety awareness are required.
• Energetic and enjoy working with kids in a fun and fast-paced environment.
• Able to build rapport with participants and parents.
• Self-confidence, strong communication skills, and the ability to enforce rules impartially, consistently and calmly.
• Exhibits Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamentals of the game and enforce rules during games.
• Maintain a safe environment for participants.
• Prepare games and activities and support program flow.
• Support scheduling and coordination of games and practices.
• Promote good sportsmanship and enjoyment of the sport.
