Job summary

Samaritas is seeking a Youth Specialist I for Refugee Services in Michigan. This on-site role provides direct supervision, mentorship, and daily support in a residential setting to youth navigating displacement and transition.

You will help create a safe, inclusive, family-like environment and engage youth in activities that promote growth, independence, and wellbeing. Strong communication, trauma-informed care, and bilingual skills (Spanish preferred) are valued as you collaborate with case

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with youth or vulnerable populations preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision, structure, and positive engagement.
• Build trusting relationships to support wellbeing and resilience.
• Create a safe, family-like environment and facilitate activities.
• Support routines including meals, hygiene, chores, and learning activities.
• Document shift notes and incident reports; maintain confidentiality.
• Collaborate with case managers, clinicians, teachers, and staff.
