Genesee County Juvenile Justice Center in Michigan seeks staff to supervise and guide neglected and delinquent youths residing at the center. You will process admissions, enforce rules, and help maintain safety and order within the facility.
Responsibilities include overseeing groups, participating in care decisions, assisting with daily routines, and providing support during meals, school activities, and recreational periods. Annual training in restraints is required.
Starting Pay: $20.2490 Hourly ($42,118)
After 1st Year: $22.0712 Hourly ($45,908)
After 2nd Year: $22.7798 Hourly ($47,382)
After 3rd Year: $23.4635 Hourly ($48,804)
After 4th Year: $24.1678 Hourly ($50,269)
After 5th Year: $25.0163 Hourly ($52,034)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Sixty (60) semester hours of college;
-OR-
Thirty (30) semester hours of college -AND- one (1) year experience in a facility or institution that cares for youth or in a correctional facility;
-OR-
High school diploma or equivalent -AND- two (2) years' experience in a facility or institution that cares for youth or in a correctional facility.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must successfully complete physical restraint training on an annual basis.
Must possess valid Michigan driver's license.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs a variety of tasks involved in the supervision, care and guidance of neglected and delinquent youths residing at the Genesee County Juvenile Justice Center; processes resident admissions and releases; works under the direction of a supervisor.
