Job summary

The Link Minnesota seeks a Youth Specialist for the Safe Harbor Emergency Shelter in the Southwest Suburbs. The role centers on 24-7 safety, supervision, and trauma-informed care for youth facing exploitation, fostering a supportive, culturally competent environment.

Responsibilities include intake, case management coordination, group activities, crisis intervention, and transportation. Candidates must meet age and licensing requirements and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Experience working with high-risk and vulnerable youth.
• Training in youth development, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of minor sex trafficking and related issues.
• Ability to coordinate multi-service support and case management.
• Must be insured and able to drive The Link vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-7 safety, supervision, and program support at the shelter.
• Develop and facilitate youth activities grounded in trauma-informed care.
• Perform intake, case coordination, and service referrals.
• Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Transport youth as required and maintain records.
