Job summary

Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency in Salem, OR is seeking a Youth Site Specialist to supervise at-risk youth and assist with basic needs, while ensuring a safe space at Home Youth Services shelters.

The role involves mentoring youth, coordinating with Case Managers and volunteers, and transporting clients as needed. Strong interpersonal skills and experience in youth services are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in youth mentoring or service delivery is strongly preferred.
• Ability to de-escalate, model positive behavior, and listen actively.
• Ability to maintain healthy boundaries with clients and partners.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary point of contact for the work shift.
• Trains incoming staff and volunteers on duties and policies; supports coworkers.
• Provides direct supervision to clients, teaching independent living skills and goal setting.
• Provides client transportation in Agency vehicles to school, appointments, and outings.
• Facilitates communication between Case Managers, Site Specialists and volunteers.
• Assists with intake, enrollment and shelter placement documentation.
• Maintains data quality by inputting service usage into HMIS and Shelter Point.
• Promotes a safe, healing environment and trauma-informed engagement.
