Job summary

The Link in Minnesota is seeking a Youth Specialist to ensure 24-7 safety and supportive services for youth at the Safe Harbor Emergency Shelter and Housing Program. You will supervise youth and the building, support holistic case-management, and help develop youth programming grounded in positive youth development and harm reduction.

Positions require a valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and successful background checks. Shift-based hours, part-time, with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Four years of working with high-risk and vulnerable youth or an AA or BA degree in a related field.
• Experience providing comprehensive and holistic supportive services to young people.
• Training in youth development, harm reduction, and/or trauma informed care.
• Knowledge of issues related to minor sex trafficking and gender-based violence, comprehensive programming, child welfare, and court systems.
• Proven experience providing 1:1 and group supports and/or programming within a shelter or other youth setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level supervision of youth and facility to ensure safety and security.
• Enforce shelter and housing policies consistently and fairly.
• Develop social, educational, and recreational activities grounded in youth development and trauma-informed care.
• Coordinate with police and child welfare for smooth transitions for youth.
