Job summary

The Link seeks Youth Specialist to support Safe Harbor Emergency Shelter and Housing for at-risk youth. You will ensure 24-7 safety, supervise youth, and engage in trauma-informed care within a culturally competent, strengths-based program.

Responsibilities include intake, case management assistance, activity planning, and coordination with local agencies. Requires a driver’s license and vehicle; background checks will be conducted; 21+ age per Minnesota rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 24-7 safety, supervision, and security of youth and housing facility
• Enforce shelter policies consistently and fairly
• Develop and facilitate youth activities grounded in trauma-informed care
• Coordinate with police and child welfare for smooth transitions
• Build nurturing relationships while maintaining boundaries
• Conduct full intake with youth entering shelter
• Assist with case management and service coordination
• Operate front desk systems to maintain safety
• Communicate daily with Program Manager and team
• Light cleaning and office maintenance
• Group facilitation
• Complete progress/case notes and records
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
• Provide transportation when assigned
• Create a warm, welcoming community for youth 24-7
• Participate in required meetings and trainings
