Job summary

New Avenues for Youth is seeking a Shared Housing Coordinator to guide youth through housing stability and resource navigation. The role includes case management, on-site oversight of housing sites, and partnership with the Housing team to resolve issues and plan transitions.

The position emphasizes mobility across locations, collaboration with diverse youth, and a commitment to equity and trauma-informed care. Strong driving and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience or lived experience in youth services.
• Minimum of one year of case management experience.
• Understanding of substance abuse, mental health, trauma, abuse, and adolescent development.
• Experience with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants, and communities.
• Must have access to a vehicle and current driver’s license.
• CPR training and certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support at Unity House and New Doors during office hours, including case management and support with needs, skill-building, emotional support, conflict resolution, and transition planning.
• Oversee day-to-day on-site operations of shared housing sites and manage maintenance requests.
• Coordinate shared housing site community meetings and address program rule violations in collaboration with leadership.
• Conduct Initial Assessments to identify client issues, strengths, and needs.
• Develop trusting relationships with youth to encourage social and emotional development and protective factors.
• Manage crises with appropriate intervention and model problem-solving and negotiation.
• Offer services in non-traditional settings outside the office to engage youth.
• Coordinate referrals, track services, and advocate with partner agencies as needed.
