Job summary

New Avenues for Youth is seeking a Shared Housing Coordinator in Portland, OR. The role supports youth at Unity House and New Doors, guiding them through housing options, crisis intervention, and transition planning.

You will manage on-site housing operations, conduct assessments, build trusting relationships, and collaborate with the Housing team to ensure safe, supportive, and youth-centered services across locations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience, lived experience, or both.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a case management role.
• Understanding of substance abuse, mental health, trauma, abuse and adolescent development including brain development.
• Experience with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community.
• Must have access to an automobile, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Willingness to be CPR trained and certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite support at Unity House and New Doors with case management and direct services.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of shared housing sites and manage maintenance requests.
• Coordinate site community meetings and resolve program rule violations.
• Conduct Initial Assessments and identify clients’ strengths and needs.
• Develop relationships with youth and foster protective factors in their environments.
• Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
• Offer services outside traditional settings and engage youth in services and referrals.
