Job summary

The Division of Youth Services (DYS) within the Colorado Department of Human Services is hiring for a Correctional Youth Security Officer in Pueblo, CO. This direct care role provides supervision of adjudicated and pre-adjudicated youth in a secure setting, with responsibilities spanning safety, programming support, documentation, and crisis intervention.

Shift work includes evenings and nights, with mandatory overtime in some cases.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or General Education Diploma, (GED). Substitutions: None.

Responsibilities

• Safety/Security: supervise adjudicated/pre-adjudicated youth in a secure setting and enforce behavioral plans.
• Youth Center Programming: support youth programming and crisis intervention.
• Documentation/Recording and Reporting: document observations and log activities in logs/records systems.
• Training: complete pre-service training and ongoing mandatory training.
• Organizational Accountability: uphold a trauma-responsive, respectful cultural climate in the youth center.
