Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Family Services seeks a Youth Services Security Officer to provide overnight safety, security and risk management at the Wyoming Girls’ School, a residential facility for adjudicated female youth. You will help maintain a structured, secure environment that supports personal growth and rehabilitation within a dedicated team.

Successful candidates will conduct crisis interventions, perform safety assessments, and coordinate with educational and medical staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of progressive work experience in Youth Services, or 1-3 years with substitution.
• Ability to complete CPR/First Aid and related safety trainings is expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure residential environment and monitor campus activity.
• Manage crisis situations using de-escalation techniques per policy.
• Conduct ongoing safety assessments and address environmental risks.
• Record youth progress and incidents accurately in logs and reports.
• Coordinate with campus departments to support educational and medical needs and transport.
• Oversee visitor check-in and provide professional customer service.
• Maintain required certifications including CPR/First Aid and defensive driving.
