Job summary

Wiggin Memorial Library in Stratham, NH is seeking a full-time Youth Services Librarian to support families with children from 0 to 18 years. The role requires collaboration, flexibility, and strong patron service in a dynamic, sometimes fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates will have a library science degree or related experience, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with library tech tools. Some evenings and Saturdays are required, with an option for a four-day work week.

Qualifications

Youth Services Librarian, Wiggin Memorial Library (Stratham, NH)

Seeking a full-time (36 hours) Youth Services Librarianfor our vibrant library in the seacoast region. Greatcandidates will be knowledgeable in the field, willing teamplayers, and have a sense of playfulness and fun. Applicantsmust be able to demonstrate flexibility and good judgment invarying circumstances. The ability to produce high qualitywork, provide excellent patron service, and multi-task in anoccasionally fast-paced environment is essential. Must be acollaborative team player with an interest in providinglibrary services and developing community for families withchildren ranging from ages 0-18. Must stay current withprofessional trends, communicate well verbally and inwriting with library and Town colleagues, and assist in theplanning of team projects. Some evening hours and Saturdays(on a rotation) are required. Option to work afour-day work week, Tuesday-Friday.

Qualifications

1-2 years of relevant experience with a degree in libraryscience or other related field. Or 2-4 years experienceworking with children and/or teens in a library, school orother youth-focused field.

Independent and collaborative experience with the libraryskills in the job description. Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills; listening and interpersonal skills;organizational and evaluative skills. High comfort levelwith technology in general including mobile devices, wi-fi,productivity software (ie: MS Office Suite, G-Suite), Canva,a variety of library digital subscriptions and ILS software–experience with Koha, a plus.
