Job summary

Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of State Training School (STS), seeks a Youth Services Worker to join our team on a full-time basis. The role includes 10-hour shifts across a 4-day workweek with evening and weekend hours and shift differentials of $0.90 and $1.00 per hour for second and third shifts.

YSWs support students with daily living activities, provide leadership, supervise recreation, transport students when needed,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of full-time youth service experience in treatment settings preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily activities and maintain order in living units.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and role modeling to students.
• Escort students to campus programs and transport as needed.
• Monitor safety, document headcounts, and report incidents.
• Assist in searches for missing students and respond to emergencies.
