Job summary

World Relief is seeking a Student Youth Fellow in Durham, NC to support refugee and immigrant students through after-school tutoring, mentorship, and school-based activities. The role emphasizes building professional skills under team supervision in a faith-based, mission-driven environment.

The position is part-time (12–20 hours/week) for one year with potential extension, offering mentorship, hands-on experience, and involvement in family engagement and community events.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated strong English written and spoken communication.
• Fluency in one other language commonly served (e.g., Spanish, Arabic, etc.).
• Proactive, self-motivated with ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.
• Ability to organize and manage information for youth services.

Responsibilities

• Work with the RIYS Team to develop youth services for refugee and immigrant students.
• Assist families with school registration, ESL testing setup, and enrollment activities.
• Provide support for after-school tutoring, mentorship, and in-school programming.
• Help coordinate transportation and engagement activities for students and families.
• Document program activities and maintain case notes using World Relief systems.
