Job summary

United States Soccer Federation is seeking a Safeguarding Manager, Youth Engagement, to lead youth-safeguarding initiatives across the organization and member programs. The role shapes policy, education, and culture to ensure safe environments for under-18 participants.

The manager will translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance, build learning assets, and partner with teams to embed safeguarding across grassroots, community, and elite settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field and safeguarding credentials or demonstrated experience.
• Minimum 5 years of safeguarding, child protection, or minor welfare experience, including program design and delivery at scale.
• Experience designing learning frameworks (digital/blended/in-person) for varied audiences.
• Proven ability to lead projects across functions in fast-paced environments.
• Strong judgment, integrity, and discretion with handling sensitive matters.
• English language proficiency required; willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends when camps/events occur.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME on youth safeguarding across regulation, best practice, and evidence base.
• Advise Safeguarding Team and operations in youth-related settings and events.
• Translate regulatory changes into practical guidance, policies, and training.
• Develop safeguarding policies, standards, and learning assets for staff, members, and partners.
• Collaborate across teams to align policy, education, and delivery and drive prevention efforts.
