Job summary

U.S. Soccer Federation in Atlanta seeks a Safeguarding Manager, Youth Engagement to lead safeguarding for youth participants across programs, events, and camps. You will provide expert guidance on MAAPP, SafeSport, and state laws, and partner with the safeguarding team to protect under-18 participants.

The role emphasizes policy development, education, and capacity building, with focus on digital safety, reporting pathways, and inclusive participation across the youth game.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Protection, Social Work, Education, Public Health, Sport Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum of 5 years in safeguarding, child protection, or minor welfare, including designing and implementing prevention measures and delivering policy and education programs at scale
• Experience designing and delivering learning and training frameworks (digital, blended, and in-person) for varied audiences including youth
• Strong leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• English language proficiency and ability to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed
• Knowledge of safeguarding in a sporting environment and MAAPP requirements; ability to translate policy into practical guidance

Responsibilities

• Serve as Subject-Matter Expert on youth safeguarding across regulation, best practices, and evidence base
• Advise wider Safeguarding Team and operations on youth or participant risk
• Lead development and maintenance of safeguarding policies, codes of conduct, and standards
• Build learning content for youth participants and adults, using blended delivery methods
• Support safeguarding in community engagement and program delivery across the youth game
• Collaborate across departments to align policy, education, and delivery
