Job summary

The Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is recruiting for a Resource Specialist Supervisor: Resource Re-entry Supervisor to oversee placement and resource management for youth under DJS supervision. You will coordinate with regional staff to identify appropriate services, manage a budget over $1 million, and supervise staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences or criminal justice from an accredited four year college or university.
• Three years of experience providing case management services to emotionally or socially maladjusted, delinquent, victimized or exceptional juveniles in a community or residential setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee youth placement and resource management for DJS youth and coordinate with Field Services Supervisors to identify services.
• Lead an Area Resource Office and supervise professional and support staff, developing reports and vetting community-based stakeholders.
• Manage services budgets and expenditures, client tracking and cost accounting systems, and purchase orders for youth care.
• Evaluate placement needs and service trends, participating in Title IV-B reviews and recommending future resource requirements.
• Build and maintain partnerships with Local Coordinating Councils, system reform initiatives, and interagency partners to secure services for youth.
• Support program development, solicitations, and contract awards; work with Regional leadership to assess resource needs.
• Complete special assignments, reports, and other duties to support the Department’s programs and services.
