Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a DJS Residential Group Life Manager I to oversee the group life program during shifts and supervise staff serving youth in a juvenile setting.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, and ensuring compliance with Maryland Department of Juvenile Services policies. Requires coordination across shifts and possible work on evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
• Four years of supervisory experience with at-risk youth in a juvenile setting or similar program.
• Substitutions: AA degree with 60 credits including 15 in CJ or social/behavioral sciences; Bachelor's degree in CJ or related field; military service on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the group life program during assigned shifts, including first-line supervision.
• Plan and schedule work assignments for staff working with youth.
• Ensure staff adherence to facility and departmental policies and maintain training standards.
• May require evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as staffing needs dictate.
