Job summary

UCAN seeks a Residential Treatment Specialist I to provide direct service to children and adolescents with behavioral and emotional disorders in a residential setting. You will supervise residents, teach daily living skills, manage behavior, intervene in crises, lead groups, and document all activities and outcomes within the dorm environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and <5 years field experience.
• Meets Medicaid RSA criteria.
• TCI certification or obtains within 30 days of employment.
• First Aid/CPR certified or obtains within 30 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors residents during the scheduled shift of a 24-hour day.
• Maintains current knowledge through participation in mandatory training.
• Understands the treatment goals of the program and RTS role in residential treatment.
• Uses knowledge of child development and childhood disorders when intervening with residents.
• Follows UCAN policies and procedures in performance of duties.
• Utilizes available programs, resources and materials to meet residents’ needs.
