Job summary

Tudor Employment Agency Ltd is recruiting a compassionate Residential Support Worker to support children and young people in Burton-upon-Trent, providing a safe, nurturing and stable home. The role focuses on building relationships, aiding education and wellbeing, and promoting positive behaviours.

You will follow safeguarding procedures, assist with daily living tasks, and contribute to care planning while maintaining clear records.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve within 2 years.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Passion for supporting children and young people.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Patient, caring and emotionally resilient.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Positive team player with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Support daily routines including education, health, leisure activities and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage positive behaviour through consistency, support and role modelling.
• Assist with cooking, cleaning, personal care and independent living skills.
• Maintain accurate records, reports and keyworker documentation.
• Support care planning, risk assessments and review meetings.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of children at all times.
• Use positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques when required.
• Attend training, team meetings and supervision sessions.
