Job summary

State of Washington’s Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) is hiring Juvenile Rehabilitation Counselors (JRC1) at Green Hill School in Chehalis to support juvenile counseling services and help youth re-enter the community.

You will assist in case management, transition and reentry planning, and group therapy while supervising an assigned caseload; a bachelor’s degree or equivalent four-year education/experience is required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience totaling four years.
• Two years of college education from an accredited institution, AND two years of experience as a Juvenile Rehabilitation Security Officer.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• The ability to take action to learn and grow.
• The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
• Experience with treatment and intervention principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residential counselors to assess behavior and monitor youth compliance with case plans.
• Support youth participation in appropriate treatment services.
• Co-facilitate Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy groups.
• Perform routine security duties.
• Conduct wellness checks and unit security checks.
• Organize and supervise group recreational activities.
