Job summary

Montgomery Jewish Community Center (MJCC) is seeking a Recreation Specialist I to assist with the implementation of recreational, leisure, fitness, and enrichment activities for students in Montgomery, AL.

You will supervise students, help organize programs such as arts and crafts, games, fitness and wellness activities, and coordinate schedules, equipment, and transportation as needed. Maintain a safe, structured environment and support positive student engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an Associate Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related field preferred.
• One year of recreation experience.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record; CDL-B with passenger endorsement within six months of hire.
• Water Safety Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists with organizing and facilitating on- and off-Center recreational, leisure, and enrichment activities for students.
• Supports the implementation of a variety of programs including arts and crafts, intramurals, cultural events, games, and fitness activities.
• Encourages student participation and promotes healthy lifestyle choices.
• Assists with preparing activity schedules, calendars, and materials for recreation programs and events.
• Monitors student safety and maintains orderly recreation spaces.
