Job summary

The Eugene Family YMCA in Eugene, Oregon is seeking a Recreation & Activities Director to lead programs for youth and teens, focusing on movement, skill development, belonging, and safe, inclusive recreation.

You will develop clinics, camps, leagues and community partnerships while managing budgets, staff and safety standards. A strong background in youth recreation and collaboration with schools is preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of relevant education or training beyond high school.
• 4.5+ years of experience developing or leading youth recreation or related programs.
• 1.5+ years of experience leading staff or volunteers who work with youth.
• Experience coordinating program operations including staffing, scheduling or budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead youth recreation, movement and skill development programs with inclusive opportunities.
• Develop clinics, camps, Game Days and open recreation aligned to community needs.
• Create and manage diverse activities from introductory to seasonal programs.
• Establish partnerships with schools and community groups to expand access.
• Ensure safety, risk management and program quality across all activities.
• Oversee program budgets, registrations, calendars and staff coordination.
