Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks MY Denver Youth Instructors to plan and deliver engaging after‑school activities for youth across multiple recreation centers. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and constructive supervision in a dynamic, citywide recreation program.

You will work on-site, typically 20–30 hours weekly during school year, with core hours afternoons and seasonal adjustments in summer. CPR/First Aid certification required within 6 months of hire; valid driver's license also

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
• One year of experience assisting in operation and instruction of organized recreation activities.
• Experience with after‑school programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, plan, and implement organized recreation activities for youth (ages 5‑18).
• Maintain administrative tasks: respond to emails, monthly activity calendars, attendance reports, and other duties.
• Shop for supplies within a monthly budget and manage purchases.
• Build meaningful connections with youth, parents, and staff at recreation centers.
• Attend meetings up to three times monthly and assist with seasonal programming events.
