Job summary

YMCA of Greater Waukesha County in Mukwonago, WI is seeking a part-time youth program assistant to implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, engage students before and after school, monitor safety, and model positive behavior for children and staff. You will maintain records, follow emergency procedures, uphold YMCA values, and collaborate with families and the team.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid and state licensing

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Must meet licensing requirements including school-age growth and development course within 2 months of hire.
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, and other required certifications.
• Prior experience in licensed early learning programs preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to relate to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and engage youth before and after school.
• Serve as a role model to staff and Y BASE participants.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, families, and children with caring interactions.
• Maintain participant records and documentation per department requirements.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
• Follow emergency procedures and communicate concerns to supervisor.
• Uphold YMCA core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings and perform other duties as assigned.
