Job summary

The Newark Museum of Art is seeking a Manager of Youth Programs to lead and grow youth initiatives, Explorers, and Camp NMOA. The role emphasizes college readiness, professional development, and hands-on learning with the museum’s collections.

You will supervise camp staff, coordinate virtual and in-person programs, and collaborate with educators and partners to deliver engaging experiences for Newark-area youth, while ensuring safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the development and implementation of youth programming.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience in managing staff.
• Proven experience working with diverse groups of youth and communities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Adobe Pro, Web Conferencing software and knowledge of social media practices.
• Strong organizational and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate youth programs and camps.
• Oversee teen programs focused on college readiness, career and life skills.
• Supervise and support camp staff; manage staff schedules.
• Collaborate with educators, curators, and external partners to create programs.
• Design internship rotations and partner with institutions for field trips.
• Organize training for staff on safety and accessibility.
