Job summary

City of Seattle, through Seattle Parks and Recreation, invites student interns to gain hands-on experience in public‑sector collaboration, community engagement, and youth programming. Interns will work directly with students, supporting academic and enrichment activities, and learning professional skills.

Eligibility includes 18–21 years old, enrolled in a 2–/4‑year college, and willingness to complete background checks.

Qualifications

• 18–21 years old and enrolled in an accredited 2‑ or 4‑year college program (proof of enrollment required).
• Experience working with youth.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated reliability and flexibility when working with youth.
• Ability to adapt to diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering academic enrichment for youth in grades 2–8 and support enrichment clubs.
• Provide program support including record keeping, supply management, and setup/cleanup.
• Engage families and act as a liaison among Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Public Schools and families.
