Job summary

City Parks Foundation seeks two college interns to support the Eco-Innovators Afterschool program in NYC. Interns will cover two hubs across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, assisting the program manager with curricula and field experiences for high school students.

This role offers hands-on work with youth, promotes environmental stewardship, and requires willingness to travel to multiple worksites. Overnight trips and weekend activities are possible.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or recent graduate in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of nonprofit operations and environmental education is preferred.
• Interest in environmental STEM and advocacy is desired.
• Willingness to commit to the program schedule and sites.
• Ability to receive feedback and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Directly support and assist the Program Manager with curricular programming at two hubs.
• Co-facilitating lessons and field experiences for high school students.
• Mentor and supervise high school students.
• Provide logistical support and general administrative duties.
• Gather materials, photos, and evaluative components of the program.
• Support safety for up to 25 high school students during field trips.
• Commit to 12 sessions per site over 2.5-3 months in fall and spring semesters.
• Attend 1-2 overnight field trips per semester.
