Job summary

Marillac St. Vincent Family Services in Chicago is seeking a Youth Development Specialist to support youth and teen programs. This part-time, seasonal role involves coordinating activities, mentoring youth, and promoting positive development.

You will work under the Youth Development Manager, design and implement engaging activities, track attendance, and collaborate with families and partners to deliver high-quality programming that aligns with our mission.

Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in youth programs, recreation, SEL, mentoring, or after-school activities.
Knowledge of youth development principles and positive behavior management strategies.
Ability to design and lead interactive, educational, and engaging activities.
Exhibit strong leadership abilities and the ability to relate to diverse populations.

Responsibilities

Design and implement engaging activities across arts, sports, STEM and life skills.
Lead weekly group sessions during out-of-school time.
Collaborate with staff to recruit and build relationships with youth.
Supervise youth to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes.
Prepare reports for funding sources and leadership.
