Job summary

YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Youth Specialist to coordinate and implement out-of-school-time youth development activities at school sites and program locations. Working with the program team under the Site Coordinator, you will plan, facilitate, and deliver daily lessons and activities for after-school groups.

Programming follows Teen REACH and Positive Youth Development principles to create a safe, inclusive environment that supports youth’s social, emotional, and academic growth,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred.
• Experience with youth in informal or OST settings is desirable.
• Ability to work with diverse youth and families and build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate after-school/OST activities for youth and teens.
• Develop weekly activity and lesson plans aligned with program outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Prepare spaces, materials, and supplies for activities.
• Document youth participation and progress using required data systems.
• Support recruitment, enrollment, and intake activities.
• Assist with program logistics at multiple sites.
• Participate in team initiatives and special projects.
