Job summary

The Youth Programs Director I at the YMCA of Greater San Francisco oversees planning, development, coordination, and management of out-of-school time programs for elementary-aged youth. Qualifications

• 21+ years old and 3+ years in youth programs with supervisory responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in youth development or coaching.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• In-person position in SF with evening and weekend availability.
• Experience working with diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with schools and community organizations.
• Fingerprint and TB test clearance; YMCA-approved First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, supervision, and daily operations of Out of School Time programs.
• Ensure safety, quality, and fiscal stewardship aligned with YMCA SF strategic vision.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day programming with instructors and specialists.
• Design inclusive, engaging environments and develop enrichment activities.
• Guide staff in culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate programming.
• Supervise and coach staff; maintain partnerships with school admins, families, and community partners.
• Support budgeting, contracts, and reporting; participate in fundraising and annual giving.
• Serve as liaison with public/private partners to advance YMCA mission and values.
