Job summary

City of Mission Texas is seeking a Youth Development Professional for a 25-hour weekly position. The role focuses on delivering youth programming across education, recreation, arts, and physical activity, working with children aged 5–15.

The incumbent will greet callers, coordinate activities, and support staff to ensure safe, engaging youth experiences. Responsibilities include program development, activity monitoring, and maintaining strong public relations while following city policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate orally in the English and Spanish languages.
• No supervisory responsibilities; ability to work with children aged 5–15.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and greet the public, directing to appropriate destinations.
• Plan, implement, supervise and evaluate youth activities across program areas.
• Register new members and assist in club orientation.
• Chaperone field trips and assist supervisor as needed.
• Maintain safety and good public relations in line with city policies.
