Job summary

Macomb County is hiring a Youth Specialist for the Juvenile Justice Center. The role provides care, safety, and supervision for residents, supports program implementation, and documents behavior and case information. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an associate degree in related fields and experience with adolescents.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree preferred in Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, or related field.
Previous experience working with adolescent youth.
Valid Michigan driver’s license and insured automobile for authorized travel.

Responsibilities

Provides care, safety and security of residents at the Juvenile Justice Center.
Assists in implementation of programs and work assignments.
Observes and reports information relevant to residents’ behavior.
Enters case information into a computerized software system and generates reports as directed.
Works mandatory overtime as directed.
May transport residents to various locations for services.
