County of Midland, Michigan is seeking a Detention Supervisor for the Juvenile Care Center to oversee safety, welfare, and security of residents, staff, visitors, and the building in a structured day treatment/detention setting.

The role includes supervising residents, guiding daily activities, enforcing rules with positive reinforcement, and preparing court and operation reports.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, or related field.
• Two years of progressively more responsible experience in a childcare detention or juvenile residential treatment facility.
• Valid Michigan Driver's License.
• CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications required.
• Current hourly rate provided in posting.

Supervises, guides, and counsels residents through daily activities within the framework of the day treatment and detention units. Enforces rules within a behavior management setting by providing positive and authoritative reinforcements. Prepares a variety of reports, court reports, and documents detailing residents functioning in a structured setting.

Associate's Degree in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, counseling, or related field and two year of progressively more responsible experience in a childcare institution detention or juvenile residential treatment facilities. Valid Michigan Vehicle Operator's License. Must obtain certification in CPR, CPI and First Aid to maintain employment. Current hourly rate $23.61.
