Job summary

City of Boston’s BCYF Mattahunt seeks a Program Assistant to help welcome, engage, and supervise youth aged 8–13 in diverse activities. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and support for families within a collaborative team environment.

You will contribute to program setup, event support, and civic engagement efforts, while modeling respect and responsibility for participants and staff alike.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with welcoming and checking in children and youth, engaging them in age-appropriate activities.
• Help with program setup, supervision, participant engagement, and cleanup for activities and events.
• Serve as a positive role model by providing welcoming, inclusive, and respectful assistance to youth and families.
• Some staff may handle multiple roles, including facilities/front desk and recreation assistant.
• Participate in civic engagement and city beautification activities.
