Job summary

City of Boston’s Youth Camp program seeks dedicated Camp Leaders to welcome and supervise youth, lead age-appropriate activities, and support families in a safe, inclusive environment. You will help plan and run camp activities, manage attendance and supplies, escort participants between activities, and collaborate with peers to maintain a positive and organized space.

Experience with summer camps or after-school programs is preferred; strong work ethic, dependability, and leadership are valued

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and dependability are essential.
• Leadership skills to guide youth and small groups.
• Ability to interact positively with large groups of children.
• Previous experience with summer camps or out-of-school-time programs preferred.
• Willingness to participate in civic engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure campers are supervised at all times.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable camp environment.
• Escort youth to and from designated camp activities.
• Work cooperatively with Camp Leaders to complete tasks.
• Attend and participate in all camp activities.
• Head counts and accurate daily attendance tracking.
• Monitor campers' medical conditions and observe for changes.
• Observe and enforce LHCC rules and day camp policies.
• Carry and manage activity supplies on-site and off-site.
