Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York is seeking a part-time Team Leader/Youth Worker to assess participant needs, plan goals, and supervise Youth Council activities in the New York area.

The role involves developing lesson plans, recruiting teens, and coordinating with the Program Director. Evening hours and some Saturdays are required; hourly pay is $20.00. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Ability and patience to work with children and young people
• Remain in a stationary position while working at a computer or monitoring activities
• Move for long periods, providing instruction

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial needs assessment, intake and orientation of new participants
• Create short- and long-term goals for participants based on the needs assessment
• Maintain teen participant folders and application
• Develop and implement lesson plans for Youth Council and youth leadership activities and special initiatives
• Collect participant's report cards to monitor their educational progress and keep track of youth academic life
• Monitor and track participant attendance and conduct outreach to support retention
• Assist with the recruitment of teen participants
• Co-facilitate Parent Meetings
• Responsible for keeping the Program Director and Assistant Director informed of any changes and abnormalities that may occur
• Submit weekly reports to the Program Director and Assistant Director on a timely basis
• Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and special events
• Assist other staff when needed
• Other duties as assigned
