Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York is seeking a part-time Youth Worker to oversee the Youth Council and participant recruitment, with a focus on needs assessment and goal setting. The Team Leader focuses on planning and monitoring, while the Youth Worker handles detailed activities, lesson planning, reporting, and collaboration with staff.

Work hours are Monday to Friday evenings with some Saturdays; rate is $20.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial needs assessment, intake and orientation of new participants.
• Create short- and long-term goals for participants based on the needs assessment.
• Maintain teen participant folders and applications.
• Develop and implement lesson plans for Youth Council and leadership activities.
• Collect participant's report cards to monitor educational progress and keep track of youth academic life.
• Monitor and track participant attendance and conduct outreach to support retention.
• Assist with the recruitment of teen participants.
• Submit weekly reports to the Program Director and Assistant Director on a timely basis.
• Attend all program staff meetings, trainings, and special events.
• Other duties as assigned.
