Job summary

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York, via the La Plaza Beacon Community Center, seeks an Assistant Director to assist the Director in overseeing, coordinating, implementing and supervising comprehensive services for children, youth, and families as outlined in DYCD contracts.

The role is full-time, with hours generally Tue–Fri 1:30 PM–9:30 PM and Sat 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, including some evenings and special events. The center operates a 35-hour work week framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Two years' supervisory experience working with youth.
• Experience facilitating workshops.
• Experience providing one-on-one peer mediation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day supervision and oversight of all programs that include Afterschool, Evening, Saturday, Day Camp, SNL.
• Supervise all staff and assist in monitoring, reporting, program planning and development of activities.
• Attend weekly meetings with program cohorts and facilitate evening staff meetings.
• Ensure successful program implementation and attainment of outcomes.
• Assist in submission of reports and provide administrative logistical support to staff.
• Coordinate with Outreach for Spring Health Fair and monitor DYCD enrollment and attendance.
