Job summary

Merrimack Valley YMCA in Lawrence, MA is seeking a part-time Group Leader to provide safe, engaging leadership for youth and families. You will support curriculum planning, supervision, and daily attendance while upholding YMCA safety standards and licensing requirements.

The role requires EEC Group Leader qualifications, 18+ years old, and CPR/First Aid certification. Relevant education or experience in youth programs is preferred, with flexible afternoon shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be EEC Group Leader qualified.
• 18+ years of age with one of the qualification paths listed.
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree with experience or High School Diploma with work experience.
• Nine months of experience with school age children including three months in a school age program.
• Relevant education classes are preferred.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with Site Coordinator.
• Ensure program quality meets licensing and QRIS standards and safety regulations.
• Supervise children, plan lessons, and track daily attendance.
• Keep classrooms safe and maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Model YMCA values of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
