Job summary

Merrimack Valley YMCA is seeking an Assistant Group Leader to support the Site Coordinator in planning and delivering developmentally appropriate activities for children. You will help supervise participants, assist with lesson planning, and maintain a safe, clean classroom environment.

Applicants should have strong verbal and written communication, experience with children, and knowledge of safety and licensing standards. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required during employment.

Qualifications

• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience supervising or teaching children in a group setting preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and child protection standards is essential.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts EEC Licensing Regulations and QRIS standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervision of children and daily attendance.
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum with the Group Leader/Site Coordinator.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and safety in alignment with licensing requirements.
• Ensure program meets safety regulations and supports emotional wellbeing of participants.
