Job summary

Phipps Neighborhoods is seeking part-time Group Leaders to supervise and engage groups of students after school. The role requires ensuring safety, guiding activities, and supporting academic and non-academic growth in a center-based setting.

The position runs 20 hours per week, primarily 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, on-site in New York. Applicants must be 18+, have a High School Diploma or GED, and be willing to undergo background checks.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate age-appropriate activities and ensure participant safety at all times.
• Use classroom management strategies to keep participants engaged.
• Create a supportive learning environment with clear expectations.
• Model positive behaviors and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Track attendance and sign-out records accurately.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Complete required SACC training within three months of hire.
