Job summary

Partnership with Children in New York City seeks Group Leaders to assist Activity Specialists, ensuring safety and support for program participants in after-school programs at South Bronx Academy for Applied Media.

Responsibilities include supervising groups, helping with homework, implementing lessons, keeping areas clean, encouraging participation, and reporting safety concerns; in-person only with afternoon hours and $19/hour.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in after-school programs.
  • Reliable and consistent work habits; punctuality and attendance.
  • Ability to participate in group sports, recreation, arts and crafts, and events.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all program participants.
  • Assist with homework completion.
  • Assist Activity Specialist in the implementation of lessons and activities.
  • Provide supervision of groups of children.
  • Maintain clean and organized classroom and activity areas.
  • Motivate and maintain active involvement of program participants.
  • Report any safety or behavioral incidents to supervisors.
  • Attend required meetings and training.
  • Abide by safety protocols outlined by the relevant agencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
