The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for the co-lead facilitation for Transformation and Girls Promoting Safety (GPS) programs.
Transformations is a groundbreaking program designed by Black women, for young Black girls from our community. This program provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging space where girls can cultivate their unique identities, build self-confidence, and develop a sense of belonging. Through a culturally responsive and holistic approach, Transformations fosters a supportive environment that addresses the social, emotional, and academic needs of its participants. By centering the experiences and perspectives of Black girls, this program empowers them to grow into confident, compassionate, and critically thinking leaders, equipped to transform their lives and the world around them.
Girls Promoting Safety (GPS) is a strength-based violence prevention education program. We cover topics including communication skills, assertiveness, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, stress management, and more, through games, activities, discussions, and videos. The GPS program is a collaboration between the YWCA Central Massachusetts and Girls Inc. of Worcester.
