Job summary

The YMCA of Frederick County is seeking a part-time youth program assistant to supervise children at a school site before and after school and during summer programs. The role requires maintaining a safe, welcoming environment and engaging children with activities across arts, health, STEM, literacy, and social development.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of MSDE regulations, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality programming compliant with MSDE guidelines.
• Provide a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment for children.
• Maintain safety standards and discipline per YMCA Code of Conduct.
• Engage children with activities across arts, humanities, health, STEM, and literacy.
• Communicate with parents about positives and any behavioral issues.
• Assist site director with family events and school-community relations.
