Family Services, Inc. in Kingston, NY is seeking a Prevention Educator to plan, implement, and coordinate prevention education in school and community settings throughout Ulster County. The role emphasizes delivering evidence-based curricula to youth and working with partners to address local prevention needs.

You will maintain records, support program evaluation, and participate in trainings and meetings, with occasional evenings and weekend hours as required by program needs.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent mixture of education and proficiency.
• Minimum two years of teaching, facilitation, or public speaking experience.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with youth.
• Knowledge of substance-use disorder and prevention.
• Ability to engage youth using strength-based, culturally competent approaches.
• Strong planning and written/verbal/oral organizational skills.
• Adaptable to changing program needs and schedules.
• Proficient with technology and MS Office; comfortable with PCs.
• Understanding of evidence-based curricula.
• One year of experience in substance-use prevention.
• Program monitoring and evaluation experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
• Familiarity with social media and content creation.

Aufgaben

• Deliver evidence-based prevention curricula to groups of youth in K-12 classrooms, after-school programs, and community settings.
• Incorporate engaging instructional methods; explore media resources to involve participants.
• Prepare and deliver materials and supplies for each session.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices in schools, after-school, and community settings.
• Network with Ulster County multi-disciplinary services and youth providers.
• Coordinate scheduling of services across multiple locations with Director/Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate records and complete pre/post evaluations; input data daily as required by NY OASAS.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and input data for quarterly/annual reports.
• Participate in supervision and weekly team meetings; represent programs at events.
• Attend trainings and continuing education on prevention topics.
• Contribute to agency committees and organizational work as directed.
