Family Services, Inc. in Kingston, NY seeks a Prevention Educator to plan, implement, and coordinate prevention education across schools and community settings.

You will deliver evidence-based curricula to youth, engage students with culturally competent approaches, and collaborate with partners to maximize program impact. The role requires a bachelor’s in a human services field, two years of teaching or public speaking experience, and willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Teaching, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related Human Services field preferred OR comparable mixture of education and demonstrated proficiency.
• Minimum two years of experience in teaching, facilitation, and/or public speaking.
• Minimum two years’ experience working with youth.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct delivery of evidence-based prevention curricula to groups of youth in K-12 classrooms, after-school programs, and in community settings throughout Ulster County.
• Seek and incorporate methods of instruction that enhance and enrich the learning experience; use media resources to actively involve participants.
• Prepare and deliver materials and supplies for each program session.
• Advocate for implementation of evidence-based practices in school, after school, and in community settings.
• Network with Ulster County multi-disciplinary services and youth service providers to build partnerships.
• Coordinate with the Director and Coordinator for scheduling across multiple locations.
• Maintain accurate records including pre/post-test evaluations and online data entries as required by NY OASAS.
• Implement ongoing evaluation of program effectiveness via data analysis.
