Job summary

Ali Forney Center is seeking a Peer Navigator to support LGBTQ+ youth and young adults (16-25) across NYC RHY programs. This role mentors, facilitates groups, and helps youth access essential resources, fostering autonomy and stability.

Ideal candidates are committed to youth empowerment, have strong communication skills, and are comfortable navigating diverse service systems. Must be at least 18 and energized to work with vulnerable populations.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging LGBTQ+ youth or vulnerable populations.
• Ability to mentor and support goal-setting and skill-building.
• Comfort with public speaking and leading groups.

Responsibilities

• Engage YYA at AFC's Drop-In Center and through outreach activities.
• Conduct peer mentorship sessions one-on-one and in groups.
• Co-create peer-led programming reflecting youth needs and voice.
• Collaborate with Youth Leadership and Advocacy programs to elevate youth leadership.
• Maintain session notes and referrals per program guidelines.
